I got invited to help install a radio repeater on the top of Mount Terror. I got to fly on a Bell 212 helicopter. Unfortunately we could not land due to weather so we had to turn back. I got to shoot some amazing pictures and video on the way there. The second video is just me playing with the high speed settings on my camera. I just thought it looked cool.
The Food Monkeys (Food Services Supply) opened up their frozen food warehouse to the public today to let everyone see where the food comes from. The kitchen places an order for them and they deliver it to the temporary freezers in the kitchen. They keep the warehouse around -10ยฐF to -20ยฐF. The crates piled up in the center of the isles are the food we need to eat by February to make room for the food coming on the vessel. The oldest thing I could find was frozen in 2014. There might have been older but I didn’t see them. Also not everything was labeled when it was frozen.
So the IT people her convinced me to walk to Scott Base with them on American night. We could have taken a nice warm shuttle and been there quicker but no, we decided to walk. Here are some pictures.
So while I was doing the balloon launch we had to go through the water plant to get to the launch site. I snapped a few pictures while we walked though. I have no clue what any of this is.
Just some random pictures as I was walking between buildings. The sun was really bright and made everything pop so I just took photos as I went. I’m not sure if all of these are good I just uploaded everything I was taking that day and tried to skip duplicates.
So I tried something new for this update. I think I prefer the walking updates I’ve been doing. This seemed to static. Also just some random pictures as I was checking the light and framing.
